The Mexicobruggen are two 400-ton bridges in Antwerp. When they were scheduled for maintenance, Roll-iT joined Aertssen Kranen in ensuring the project ran smoothly.

The Mexicobruggen posed an unusual challenge. As roll-bascule bridges, they have a center of gravity close to the land, making it impossible to load the bridges directly onto pontoons. Instead, a 500-ton and a 100-ton crane worked together to raise the bridges while the 36-axle-line SPMTs on the actual pontoons were moved underneath. The SPMTs then supported the bridges and turned them in the direction of the pontoon. Only then were they ready to be transported away for restoration.

The Roll-iT engineering team relied on excellent preparation and the experience, insight and professionalism of the lifting team to make this operation successful.
